WooCommerce websites make up 27% of all eCommerce websites. This makes WooCommerce the web’s most-used ecommerce platform among all eCommerce websites.

However, it should be noted that the top 10,000 ecommerce websites in the world use Shopify.

In this post, we list the best examples of WooCommerce websites. The list is arranged from highest to lowest domain authority.

Along with a description and screenshot, each list item contains the following:

  • Homepage load time: Tested from Pingdom’s Washington, D.C. server.
  • Domain Authority (DA): Stat taken from Moz via the MozBar.
  • Stats from the BuiltWith Extension: Host, WordPress theme, caching plugin and CDN solution.
  • Stats from the Scan WP Extension: WordPress theme.

Let’s get into it.

The Best Examples of WooCommerce Websites

01. Yubico

Speed: 878ms | DA: 85

Yubico is the manufacturer of YubiKey, a device that enhances two-factor authentication via NFC technology.

You pair the device with your computer or phone via USB or NFC chip. You then use YubiKey’s two-factor authentication app to log into one of the dozens of apps the device is compatible with.

The true power behind YubiKey is the way the authentication app only works if your computer or smartphone is physically connected to the YubiKey you paired it with.

Host: Linode, AWS | Theme: Custom | CDN: Fastly

Yubico’s homepage uses a typical business website design: a small header and hero image followed by a landing page layout outlining the product’s features.

The Shop page uses an older ecommerce design, but it’s clean and well organized.

02. Offerman Woodshop

Speed: 570ms | DA: 59

Offerman Woodshop is a custom woodworking company founded by actor Nick Offerman of Parks and Recreation.

The company sells readymade wood-based products, custom products, merch and books written by Offerman himself.

offerman woodshop woocommerce website.png

Host: WP Engine | Theme: Custom

The site uses one of the simplest designs on this list. This has helped it become one of the fastest WooCommerce websites on the web. It doesn’t contain very many elements outside of product images and buttons.

Even so, it’s effective in keeping the customer’s focus on the products themselves.

03. Orange Amps

Speed: 1.29s | DA: 54

Orange is a music electronic company mostly known for the distinctive orange casing around the brand’s amp headers and speaker cabinets.

The site relies on images for much of its design. These range from graphic product images to images of artists and customers.

orange amps woocommerce website.png

Host: OVHcloud | Theme: Enfold | Caching: WP Rocket | CDN: Cloudflare

The homepage uses a large hero image, but the rest of the page is contained within a boxed layout.

The company doesn’t sell much gear in its own online store, sticking with merch and smaller gear.

This makes for a simpler shop design and product pages.

04. Good Dye Young

Speed: 3.08s | DA: 53

goodDYEyoung is a cruelty-free, vegan hair color brand co-founded by Brian O’Connor and pop-rock artist Hayley Williams of Paramore. The brand supports artistry, creativity, and self-expression.

The site is bold and in your face, but like the products, and promotes the brand’s message of self-love through self-expression.

good dye young woocommerce website.png

Host: Cloudways | Theme: Flatsome | Caching: WP Rocket, Breeze | CDN: Cloudflare

The site is super easy to navigate, with loads of color, and animated product banners.

The product images, in particular, are fun to scroll through. They give you an idea of what your hair might look like if you buy the products, which makes me curious about what color might best suit my hair? Maybe bright green or pink?

05. Eat Grub

Speed: 2.68s | DA: 50

Eat Grub is an alternative food brand that specializes in snacks and ingredients made with insects.

The brand mostly sells flour and snacks containing roasted crickets in different flavors. However, you can also purchase edible grasshoppers, mealworms and buffalo worms from the shop.

eat grub woocommerce website.png

Host: OVHcloud | Theme: Bespoke | CDN: OSS CDN, jsDelivr

Eat Grub uses a bold web design that relies on graphic design for much of its style. Their choice and use of color comes off as quite playful, and the animations on the homepage are striking.

The Shop and individual product pages use a similar design. Each product on the Shop page contains a colorful border. You’ll find it surrounding the product page as well.

06. Wild at Heart

Speed: 1.54s | DA: 49

Wild at Heart is a foundation dedicated to helping stray dogs. Although the foundation has many services, one way you can support them is by buying from their clothing collection.

They mostly sell sweatshirts and t-shirts with really sweet designs, though they have a few other items as well.

wild at heart woocommerce website.png

Theme: Custom | Caching: LiteSpeed Cache | CDN: Cloudflare

The whole website has such a lovely and lively vibe. It looks like not only rewarding to be part of the foundation but fun too.

The WooCommerce website features, most predominantly, large but colorful dog photographs, along with doodles and handwritten typography accents which seem to be at the core of their branding.

07. Kawaii Box

Speed: 1.27s | DA: 42

Kawaii Box is a subscription service that delivers a box of Japanese goodies to your door on a monthly basis.

What makes this service different from other Japanese subscription boxes is the fact that every item you receive will be “kawaii,” which means “cute” in English.

You’ll receive sweet treats, plushies, stationary, squishy toys, practical items, keychains and charms, and accessories.

Host: Pagely | Theme: Primrose | Caching: WP Rocket | CDN: CloudFront

Unsurprisingly, the company’s WooCommerce website uses the same “kawaii” style with its light pink/light blue color scheme.

It uses a boxed header followed by a hero section that acts as a call to action for the subscription service.

The rest of the page uses common landing page elements that demonstrate the level of quality the subscription box aims for.

These elements include customer testimonials, a gallery of past boxes, a slider full of companies you can expect to find in your boxes and more.

08. Magna-Tiles

Speed: 1.68s | DA: 41

Magna-Tiles is a manufacturer of magnetic tiles, an innovative type of building block for children. They target key aspects of early learning, including cognitive development, emotional health, motor skills and creative thinking.

The company sells model sets, storage bins and play mats.

magna tiles wooocmmerce website.png

Host: WP Engine | Theme: Custom made with Tailwind CSS | Caching: WP Rocket | CDN: Cloudflare, CloudFront

The brand’s homepage uses a playful business WooCommerce website design. Animations of models the company wants to promote most fill up the hero section.

The rest of the page uses a standard landing page layout that explains the benefits of Magna-Tiles.

The Shop page has a grid layout for products and a sidebar for filters. Each product has a thin border with round corners.

09. Chuckling Goat

Speed: 6.84s | DA: 41

Chuckling Goat sells a powerful probiotic drink called kefir.

All products sold on the site are handmade on a family goat farm in Wales, UK, and are suitable for people with eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis, rosacea, acne, and allergies.

chuckling goat woocommerce website.png

Host: WP Engine | Theme: Custom made by Nuclear Ape | Caching: WP Rocket

The company’s goal is to leave things better than they found them, which I tend to think is rather admirable. They use natural farming methods and have a commitment to happy goats and using only natural ingredients.

The site offers subscriptions as well as one-off purchases.

10. JOCO Cups

Speed: 2.03s | DA: 39

Here we have a cup retailer. JOCO sells glass cups made with coffee lovers in mind. The cups are crafted to make the perfect cup of brew.

joco cups woocommerce website.png

Theme: Custom

As they are made of glass it might be hard to hold them if you prefer your coffee hot. So, they also come with fun rubber sleeves. You can also buy a cup cover if you want to take your perfect cup of coffee on the go.

11. Stems Brooklyn

Speed: 953ms | DA: 37

Who doesn’t like a freshly cut bunch of flowers? Well, there are probably people who are allergic to flowers and can’t stand them, but I for one love the smell of flowers.

This simple site features loads of beautiful photos, along with easy navigation so you can find exactly what you’re looking for.

stems brooklyn woocommerce website.png

Host: Cloudways (Digital Ocean) | Theme: Page Builder Framework

What I particularly like about this site is how easy it is to check out, but also the sweet images of the employees wearing flowers in their hair.

12. Strandberg Guitars

Speed: 1.88s | DA: 37

Once the video starts playing in the header of this stunning Swedish site, it’s hard not to sit and watch it play all the way through. The Strandberg Guitars site is visually striking just like the guitars it sells.

strandberg guitars woocommerce website.png

Theme: Custom made with Angry Creative | CDN: Cloudflare, CloudFront

The site is a revamp developed by the WooExperts at Angry Birds. It offers a solid customer experience, with a streamlined product gallery that sorts guitars by type and product line.

13. Sodashi

Speed: 3.74s | DA: 37

Sodashi is an all-natural skincare company based in Australia.

They sell lotions, scrubs, cleansers, masks and more for a variety of different skin types.

sodashi woocommerce website.png

Theme: Custom made by Humaan | CDN: Cloudflare

The skincare company’s website uses an elegant design that matches its products’ container designs seamlessly.

Both utilize white and black tones. The website uses professionally-shot model and product images to fill out the rest of its design.

You can see this on the Shop and individual product pages as well.

14. Veer

Speed: 2.38s | DA: 36

What happens when you combine a premium stroller and a rugged wagon? You get the Veer Cruiser, which blends the feel, functionality and safety of a modern, high-end stroller with the fun of a wagon.

I love how this product has been designed to bring families together and promote outdoor activities.

veer woocommerce website.png

Theme: Custom | CDN: Cloudflare

As far as I can tell, it’s the first-ever premium baby stroller and rugged wagon hybrid. It’s an all-terrain vehicle that comes equipped with two cup holders and a handy snack and drink tray.

The site features plenty of young families having fun with the cruiser, which further helps to sell the product.

15. Mike’s Organic

Speed: 971ms | DA: 35

Mike’s Organics is an organic food delivery service based in the U.S. that offers sustainable, delicious food to your door each week.

The simple illustrations that pepper the site are paired with photos of colorful vegetables and meats, making this one of the most vibrant WooCommerce websites out there.

mikes organic woocommerce website.png

Theme: Custom | Caching: WP Super Cache | CDN: BunnyCDN

The site was recently revamped with the primary goal of making the mobile user experience clean, simple and fast.

I can confirm they’ve achieved all three—browsing the site is a delight, making it really easy to subscribe for weekly deliveries.

16. The Hidden Grounds

Speed: 1.55s | DA: 35

Just looking at this site makes me want to brew a fresh cup of coffee. Lucky for me, I bought some freshly ground beans today. Otherwise, I’d order some of Hidden Grounds’ products.

hidden grounds woocommerce website.png

Host: Flywheel | Theme: Custom | CDN: Fastly

There are lots of great photos throughout the site that show off the cool cafes that fall under the Hidden Grounds brand.

I really like how you can subscribe to have coffee delivered on a regular basis. I assume they’re using the WooCommerce Subscriptions plugin to help power this functionality.

17. All Blacks Shop

Speed: 1.32s | DA: 33

Up next we’ve got All Blacks Shop, a New Zealand sports retailer. It’s actually the official online store for the All Blacks and the New Zealand Rugby Union.

As you’d expect, their WooCommerce website heavily relies on black tones along with bold typography and darker marketing photographs.

all blacks shop woocommerce website.png

Host: AWS | Theme: Flatsome | Caching: WP Rocket | CDN: CloudFront, Cloudflare and more

On the site, you can find all sorts of sports clothing and accessories which you can easily navigate to with their header navigation.

The product pages are great too as they easily show off the product, provide the necessary product information as well as recommended products towards the bottom of the page.

18. Tom Chalky

Speed: 2.84s | DA: 33

Tom Chalky is a graphic design company that specializes in creating graphic font packs in different styles.

The company’s products have been used or featured by Penguin Random House, Warner Bros., Beats by Dre and more.

tom chalky woocommerce website.png

Host: AWS | Theme: Storefront | CDN: Cloudflare, jsDelivr

The company’s WooCommerce website uses a simple boxed design. The homepage mainly features a grid layout containing the company’s top font packs.

You’ll find this design on the Shop page as well. Each product page uses a landing page design that showcases each graphic and font pack in near fullscreen images.

19. Doucal’s

Speed: 3.21s | DA: 32

Doucal’s is a luxury and artisanal shoe brand with a design that’s a mixture of bold, modern yet minimal.

The typography of its WooCommerce website is large but slim and a mixture of sans serif and serif fonts. The photographs are also large but the subjects – usually the shoes – stand alone and don’t overwhelm the visitors as they browse through the site.

doucals woocommerce website.png

Theme: Custom

Yet, there’s something about how these design elements come together that allows the brand to have a bold presence that draws you in.

At the same time, the amount of content is fairly small, there aren’t long descriptions or lengthy photo galleries that add the sense of minimalism to the design as well.

20. Root Science

Speed: 2.12s | DA: 31

Root Science specializes in natural skincare products. They sell a variety of serums, toners, masks, and so on.

The company is on a mission to use quality incidents that help achieve fantastic results for their customers as so much of the beauty and skincare industry is built on “empty promises and greenwashing”.

root science woocommerce website.png

Host: Liquid Web | Theme: Shopkeeper | Caching: WP Rocket

The Root Science WooCommerce website has a very light and elegant look and feel which is a big part of their branding.

On each product page, you can, of course, see the detailed product description, but as you scroll down you get an overview of how their different products work together.

21. Nordic Ware Australia

Speed: 5.64s | DA: 28

Nordic Ware is a well-known American manufacturer of cooking products, and this is the site for their Australian distributor.

It sells a select range focused on their Bundt pans and bakeware, alongside a growing range of delicious recipes.

nordic ware woocommerce website.png

Host: Webcentral | Theme: Storefront

What I like about this site is that it doesn’t feel “corporate” as some WooCommerce websites do.

The Nordic brand has been around since 1946, but browsing the site feels warm and friendly, just like baking a cake with one of their pans.

22. Barefoot Buttons

Speed: 3.58s | DA: 27

Barefoot Buttons is a guitar accessory company. They specialize in manufacturing buttons for guitar pedals, specifically pedals with ON/OFF buttons that aren’t comfortable to use when barefoot.

The company sells aluminum buttons in different sizes and colors along with a few other accessories.

barefoot buttons woocommerce website.png

Host: GoDaddy | Theme: Flatsome | CDN: Cloudflare, GoDaddy CDN

Barefoot Buttons deviates from the rest of the WooCommerce websites on this list by utilizing a dark mode style alongside the company’s orange brand color.

Its homepage features a hero slider showcasing the brand’s top products in bold styles and imagery. The rest of the page has a typical landing page layout.

The Shop page uses a four-row grid layout to showcase a long list of products. This is because Barefoot Buttons has created separate product pages for each color variation.

23. Gritz

Speed: 5.02s | DA: 25

Grits is an Italian brewing company that specializes in gluten-free beer – a first brewery of its kind in Italy. Both the brand and their website have a fun, vibrant look and feel.

This is one of the most interactive WooCommerce websites on this list.

There are many different colors and illustrations throughout as well as subtle animations that give even more personality to the site. You can easily see little bubbles bubbling on the product page.

gritz woocommerce website.png

Theme: Custom made with Underscores

Speaking of which, the product pages are great! They use large photographs and large sections with colored backgrounds that match the specific beers. All in all, the different pages come together well to sell these gluten-free beers.

24. Pickle

Speed: 2.83s | DA: 22

Pickle is a Slovakian company that sells accessories. Their products range from backpacks to fun socks. I’ve looked through those socks and some of them are really great and colorful.

pickle woocommerce website.png

Host: Websupport | Theme: Atelier

It was hard for me not to buy something from Pickle. Their selection of sunglasses was great, too.

Their products seem to have a great vibe to them which makes the brand of the whole company awesome as well. What else could a designer ask for?!

25. Minipop

Speed: 1.44s | DA: 21

This cute site sells vegan bags and zero-waste accessories that are hand-made in Brittany, France.

As more and more people around the world try to reduce their waste by abandoning single-use plastic bags, straws, and other disposable products, sites like Minipop make it easier to find sustainable alternatives.

minipop woocommerce website.png

Host: OVHcloud | Theme: Custom

Some of the products for sale on this site include vegan bags made with cork and fennel and eco-friendly wipes made from natural materials, such as flax and organic cotton.

26. Zoya’s Pantry

Speed: 2.1s | DA: 13

Zoya’s Pantry is exceptionally well branded. Their website is filled with light mint green colors and dark purples, along with stunning photography and fantastic use of white space.

Through the site, you can encounter small bits of animations that give the site a great vibe.

zoyas pantry woocommerce website.png

Theme: Custom | CDN: Cloudflare, jQuery CDN

The website sells affordable healthy and organic products, things that belong in your pantry. Their product range is quite good, too, as it features everything from gourmet condiments to juices, beans, and rice.

Additionally, they offer a small section of wholefoods that consists of beans, chia seeds, and quinoa.

Final Thoughts On WooCommerce Websites

After analyzing the WooCommerce websites on this list, we can spot quite a few trends. The most obvious are the way these sites are built.

The majority (15 to be exact) use custom themes. Of the ones that use a third-party theme, the majority use Flatsome.

flatsome woocommerce theme.png

Flatsome is a best-selling WooCommerce theme on ThemeForest. It has over 196,000 sales and a 4.8-star rating out of over 7,000 reviews. While other factors affect page speed, the sites that use it have an average load time of 2.66 seconds.

The next trend can be found in the content delivery network (CDN) these sites use. The majority (11) use Cloudflare with CloudFront (4) coming in second.

WP Rocket is the most widely used caching solution among the WooCommerce websites on this list.

There aren’t many trends as far as hosting goes. AWS, WP Engine, and OVHcloud each host three sites on this list. OVHcloud in particular seems to be a favorite among European WooCommerce websites.

What Affects the Page Speed of WooCommerce Websites?

There are also a few interesting findings as far as page speed goes. It seems host, caching solution, CDN solution and theme do not play a role in how a site performs, at least not by a wide margin.

Sites that use custom themes have an average load time of 2.39 seconds. Sites that use third-party themes have an average load time of 2.51 seconds.

Similarly, sites that use Cloudflare have an average load time of 2.31 seconds whereas sites that use other CDN solutions have an average load time of 2.53 seconds.

The biggest differences in load times are found in the content these websites produce, or more specifically, how they showcase that content.

Common design elements found on websites that take 3 seconds or more  to load include animations, large images, sliders and videos.

Websites that load in under 1 second use simpler, static designs.
